Art Commissions

Although I have done a few commissions, I always hesitate to paint something based on someone else’s specifications.  One doesn’t totally lose room for creativity but it is constrained.  Moreover, people’s tastes differ.  Very few know exactly what they want in a painting beyond the dimensions or colors.  A good compromise I found is to create something within such limited parameters, then show the finished product to the client.  If he/she likes the painting, well and good!  If not, I simply add it to my growing body of work.  Below are a few of my commissioned pieces.

Oil on Canvas, 15 1/2" x 18 1/2" (NA)

I just learned from Barb White (through email) that the American artist of the original painting on which this was based was Cherry Jeffe Huldah (1901 - 2001). A friend had shown me a small reproduction on paper pasted on cardboard and asked me to copy it. My apologies to Ms. Huldah and her heirs.
